Feedback overshoot
A heater turns fully on below 20.0 C and fully off at 20.0 C. Temperature oscillates from 18.8 to 21.4 C every five minutes.
- On/off control plus thermal lag creates overshoot.
- A deadband or proportional control may reduce cycling.
- Measure after redesign.
